Central House - New Central House, behind birch trees at center was built to replace the one-story roadhouse which burned in the mid 1920s. This photo was probably from late 1926 or early 1927 and clearly shows the warehouses and service buildings on the left, the trail at center which will become the Steese Highway in the fall of 1927, the two-story roadhouse and kitchen annex, plus a residential cabin at right.
